What’s the deal with the wild west theme?

We already discussed the odd pairing of Disney and western culture in this post, but the combination of the two is even more striking in a different way. Disney’s Cinderella is based on a novel by Shari Redstone, who is best known for her role as the owner/operator of the conservative Little Rock Nine in The Heart of the Americana. And yet, a series based on the classic Disney film Cinderella also happens to have an entire region in it that shares its system of government with the Old West. The major difference is that in the Disney Bunk – Season 6 version, the Cinderella Prince is an American Indian man, while in the original Cinderella, the foreign prince is a European tourist. Also, the Cinderella groom is a member of the nobility, while in the Disney Bunk – Season 6 version, the groom is a poor unseeking sinner, while in the Old West, the groom is a ragged orphan who finds his way to the royal court through the rough and tumble of the yard.
